Dinner with friends is always a nice way to spend an evening “catching up.” Dinner in a lovely setting is an extra bonus.
On an unusually warm September evening we were lucky to be able to dine outdoors at Verace. Although their outdoor seating is next to the parking lot, once seated you would never know it. With lots of greenery, a vareity of seating options, good space between tables, and a fountain, the restaurant has done a wonderful job of making you feel as if you were on a private patio, perhaps in Europe?
From the Latin root, veritas, “truth,” the literal translation of Verace is “truthful” and both the design and menu at Verace is true to its Italian heritage…The architectural concept is created around..classic Italian architecture…infused with cutting edge design and modern product…The menu is designed to incorporate traditional Italian cooking techniques with modern American twists and fresh local ingredients.(website) The pastas and desserts are all house-made.
Our evening was lovely; good food and good company in a lovely setting without being rushed. Our server was polite and anxious to please. Even though there was a glitch in the order, it was quickly rectified and in a professional manner. You might be interested to know that Verace has an interesting wine program that features aware-winning wines served on tap. (see website for details)
Valet parking is available. If you park on the street (as we did) you must wal the brick walkway to the rear of the building to reach the entrance. The handicapped entrance leading to the hostess area is on the side of the building. Multi-stall restrooms, with large, handicapped-accessible stalls (no baby-changing stations) are located in this area.
We took a peek at the lovely, indoor dining area. There are a vareity of seating options and adequate space between tables . The restaurant is easy to navigate, with smooth flooring throughout. It is safe to say that when we return we will most likely have to sit inside.
As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, www.veracerestaurant.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
