“Find your new hangout spot in Seldon,” says The Neighbors’ website. They are a relatively new game in town and hope that new friends and neighbors will stop by. “There are many reasons to stop by The Neighbors – whether you need something that hits the spot, unwind from a long work day, or catch your favorite team in action with some friends,” this is the place to do it. If their wings and wraps are any indication of the many items they offer, we have no doubt that they will be making many new friends!
An invitation to a meeting brought me here on a perfect day for outdoor dining. Before going to any venue, I check their website for COVID information. I was disappointed not to find anything about what Neighbors is doing to make everyone as safe as possible. It was also unfortunate that I did not see hand-sanitizer anywhere.
I did not notice any dedicated, handicapped spaces in the paved parking lot, which is next to the restaurant, The street-level, main entrance requires going up two stone steps. If steps are a problem, one can go around to the side, where the entrance to the outdoor patio is. From here, one can go up a very short, but somewhat steep ramp to get inside. Tables inside are well-spaced. Seats at the full-height bar are quite distant from one another. There seem to be enough TVs throughout to satisfy anyone’s sports viewing!
Our meeting was held in the comfortable outdoor area . Seating out here is at high-tables, which are socially distant. The tables themselves, however, are rather small. In this time of COVID, it would probably be best to be seated with family members.
Our appetizers consisted of a variety of juicy wings and delicious sauces! I will definitely be bringing my better half back for some of those wings!
My choice of wrap for lunch was great. My table mates loved their choices as well. Our server could not have been nicer, making sure that we had everything we needed. Everyone was very pleasant. It was nice to see that all of the staff wore masks. Utensils, and dinnerware are disposable.
Unfortunately, the small restrooms are not handicapped-accessible.
The Neighbors is a welcoming, fun place with some great food. No matter what your reason for stopping in, you won’t be disappointed.
As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to check a venue’s website, http://www.theneighbors.com">www.theneighbors.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
