The Halston (American Kitchen & Bar) is located just off the LIE and on the main floor of a large office building. Accessibility is easy. The large parking lot has six accessible spaces in front of the street-level, double door entrance.
Once inside, there are smooth floors and ample space throughout. There is a really big, full-height bar. The decor is beautiful and modern, yet still, inviting. Seating is at tables with armless chairs, booths, and banquettes. There is lovely, outdoor seating as well. The restaurant has done a great job of separating the dining area from the parking lot, so that you do not feel as though you are sitting among the parked cars.
This was our first visit for lunch. Having had dinner here on many occasions, we knew that it would be good. We didn’t realize that it would be as great as it was. A really nice touch are the linen tablecloths and napkins on each table. The lunch menu is large and varied. Everything seemed nice, but the “Bento Box” called out to both of us. What a good choice! The presentation was surpassed only by the taste! Everything on the plate was delicious!
We would be remiss if we did not mention how accommodating our servers were. They made sure to check on food allergies, etc. and to make sure we had everything we needed and wanted.
We also need to mention that we were definitely not rushed. We were encouraged to “relax and enjoy!”
Large, multi-stall restrooms are located in a hallway at the back of the venue. The accessible stall is large and the sinks are accessible as well. There are no baby-changing facilities.
We can only say that everything was so good that we decided this would be our “go to” venue for future lunch meetings.
