The Diner, located in the Adams Morgan neighborhood, is a “retro-style eatery serving creative comfort food 24/7.” They… “believe that a great milkshake cures all.” (website)

An welcoming, lively place with good food was what we found when we went for breakfast.

Parking needs to be found on the street or at one of the garages nearby.  Since we were there early, parking on the street was no problem.  However, we have been in this neighborhood in the afternoon and evening and found that parking was a bit of a challenge.

The street level, single door entrance leads to a small entryway and then into the one floor restaurant itself. There is a small waiting area with benches if one has to wait at this popular spot. There is also a long counter if you are so inclined (and able to hop up on one of the stools.)We were there early on a lovely Sunday morning and by the time we left (10:00 a.m.) there were a great many people waiting for a table. In nice weather, there is outdoor seating in front of the restaurant.

There is ample space to maneuver inside. Booths, tables and chairs allow you to get a location that’s best for your needs.

Multi-stall, handicapped accessible restrooms with baby-changing stations are easy to enter and exit.

The wait staff is very attentive and efficient and all seem to enjoy what they do.

I am anxious to go there at 3 am to see who is there at that hour.  I believe that the only way it will happen is if I go there myself !  We’ll see!
