Having eaten some of Tate’s delicious cookies that are available in many gourmet shops, we could not pass up stopping at Tate’s Bake Shop in Southampton.
Kathleen King, the owner, began baking at age seven and selling her goodies from a table on her parents’ farm. She opened her first bakeshop at the age of 21. Everything is baked from scratch.
A cute storefront, with seasonal decorations in the small outdoor eating area, beckoned to us.
Although there is a small, paved parking lot on the side of the building, we parked on the street.
We entered the wonderful world of baked goods through a street level single door
The shop is small and a bit tight for a wheelchair, but doable.
It was difficult to choose from the many delights available to either take home or eat here with a cup of coffee.
