Swallow Kitchen & Cocktails offers a “unique dining experience that is both sophisticated and casual.” (website).  We couldn’t agree more. The small, but imaginative use of space, offers “…fresh, creative cuisine for everyone.”  We were here for lunch, but will certainly be back to taste more of their creative small plates.

Located at the end of a small strip mall, there is a small parking lot with two accessible spaces at the other end from the restaurant. That end happens to be where the curb cut is located. One also has to navigate a step up to enter, which proved to be a problem for my friend, who is in a wheelchair. Help arrived in the form of the Jimmy, the owner, who found a piece of wood that accommodated her. He apologized profusely and ordered a ramp at that very moment. We are happy to report that the ramp is now there and available for anyone that needs it. If you do, be sure to ask and they will happily assist you.

As I said before, Swallow is imaginative in its use of color and design to make the space appear larger than it really is. There is adequate space to navigate and tables can be moved to accommodate all. It is worth noting that the staff is ready, able and pleasant to help in whatever way they can.

Jimmy and Lauren made sure that we were comfortable at our table.  There is also a full-height bar, as well as some outdoor tables.

Then came the difficult part, what to order from the many choices. The menu offers “…creative small plates, and Wagyu beef burgers …” The website states that ,”…food is not just about sustenance, but also about creating a memorable experience for our guests.”  Based on our choices( Charred Cauliflower, Mushroom Toast, and Chicken Tostadas), Swallow certainly gave us a memorable experience. Everything was delicious!!!

An accessible, single-occupancy restroom is located in the rear.

Our experience was almost perfect. With the addition of the portable ramp, our next visit will surely be perfect!

As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website (http://www.swallowkitchenandcocktails.com">www.swallowkitchenandcocktails.com)  when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
