Sage Bistro Moderne, located in the shopping center on the corner of Jericho Turnpike and Southwoods Road in Woodbury, is a lovely French restaurant with a bistro menu. Parking is easily available in the large, paved parking lot.  There are a good number of handicapped spaces. Street level double doors get one into a small arrival area with another door to actually enter the bar area of the restaurant.

Although the main dining room is not spacious one can navigate to the booths, tables and banquettes. When I was confined to a wheelchair the staff was very accommodating in helping me get settled in a location where I felt comfortable.  We were there several times and each time the staff was just as nice.  As we returned this evening, everything was just as lovely as we had found it in the past. If anything, the food was even better, with some interesting things on the menu. I tried the eggplant meatballs with  squash spaghetti, which I loved!

Single-occupancy, handicapped accessible restrooms are in the hallway to the right rear of the dining room.  The food is delicious, the service very attentive.  A great place for lunch or dinner!

As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, www.sagebistrogroup.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
