A birthday celebration brought us to the Red Salt Room at The Garden City Hotel for Afternoon Tea. Only served on Saturday afternoon, a reservation is a good idea.

Complimentary valet parking was terrific. We were iterally in front of the street-level, multi-door entrance. Once inside we found ourselves at the entrance of the beautiful lobby.  The Red Salt Room is to the right, next to the King David Bar.  We checked in with the hostess at the Bar and were escorted to our table.   Wooden floors and spacious aisles make getting around easy. The room is sophisticated and elegant. The decor includes large displays with chunks of Himalayan sea salt. Its subdued colors blend perfectly with the wood as works of art encased in glass.

Our server was friendly and professional and quite knowledgeable about the Himalayan sea salt. He gave us a  mini-lesson on where it is found in the world and how it is used.

We love everything about High Tea. The relaxed atmosphere,  the variety of items served,  and the choices of sometimes unusual teas, combine for a wonderful way to spend several hours with good friends. The Red Salt Room did not disappoint. Everything was delicious, prepared and presented in a wonderful manner! We will definitely return!

Multi-stall, handicapped-accessible restrooms, with a baby-changing station, are located in the rear of the dining room.
