Lunch with wonderful friends brought us to a venue none of us had ever been to.  Posto Pazzo, ( which also seems to be called, Il Posto Di Joey) on New York Avenue, Huntington was a splendid surprise.  Apparently, this restaurant has been family owned since 1992, yet it was new to us.  “From traditional Italian classics to radical new adventures…” their menu is huge. All pasta is made fresh daily “in house,”  and produce is “farm to table.” They describe their cuisine as, “Northern Italian Cuisine with a little Long Island.”

We were lucky enough to be able to partake of their “lunch and early dinner” menu. There are enough choices to satisfy anyone. Lunch includes soup or a salad, dessert and coffee. This menu is served until 6:00 pm. Everything was delicious! There is also an “ a la carte” lunch menu as well as everything else on the menu.

Parking is available on the street, or in the large, paved lot in the rear. There are two accessible spaces in the lot, but it could be a long walk for someone with a mobility challenge. Better to drop the passenger off in front, at the ramp to the entrance, and then park.

The somewhat “nondescript” front doesn’t do justice to the beautiful inside. Nor does it give any indication of the size of this venue. Once inside you will find a large, full-height bar and several dining rooms.

As we followed our host to the dining room, I was stunned at the size and elegance of where we were.  Flat carpet is on the floors, upholstered chairs ( all armless) and tables abound.  There is plenty of room between tables, making navigation easy.  Cloth tablecloths cover the tables, and cloth napkins add elegance to the setting.  We had a table next to the window, where, if you look carefully, you can see Huntington Harbor, across the street and beyond the parking lot. Rather than struggle to see the view, cross the street, either before or after dining, to get a good look at the beautiful harbor.

Besides this large dining area, there is another one. It reminded me of an indoor garden room, so lovely!

After much “catching up,” we finally got to the menu. Everything we ordered was delicious – pasta, salads, shrimp, eggplant were sooo… good. Our server was very attentive and made sure that everyone’s needs were met. Although there was no choice of dessert, what we had was yummy.  Having coffee included is such a nice touch! We had a wonderful lunch, in a great setting, in a very leisurely manner.

We all said that we will be back with our spouses for dinner!

Multi-stall restrooms are located in the rear of the bar area. There is an accessible stall (not very wide), accessible sinks and a baby-changing station.

As always, we at Destination Accessible, always advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.postopazzo.com, when planning a visit, to know more about the venue.

We hope you enjoy Posto Pazzo as much as we did.
