An early Sunday dinner with friends brought us to Pomodorino Trattoria. Their website states that they have, “…the ambiance of an old world trattoria which feels like an Italian family-run restaurant.” Now that we have experienced this ambiance, we can whole-heartedly agree with their statement!
The paved parking lot has two handicapped (van)-accessible spaces near the ramp to the single door entry. If you take the steps, you will find five of them up to the door. Either way, you are in a small entryway and then another single door to the hostess area.
The full-height bar is to the right and the dining area are to the left. Three steps are required to get to the upper dining area. The floor on the lower level is tile, the upper level is wood. The upper level hass only tables and chairs. The lower level also has a few booths. Wherever you are seated there is adequate, if not ample, space between tables. Linen tablecloths and napkins are a really nice touch! If you have any special requests, we suggest calling an speaking with someone when you make a reservation (which they take). When we called, the person on the phone was mosst helpful and pleasant.
Our server was pleasant and efficient. Our food choices were all as the website told us, “…delicious Italian food at affordable prices.” Each of us were quite happy with our orders. Enjoying a good meal with good friends, in this Old World setting almost made me think I was in Italy.
Multi-stall restrooms with a (not large) handicapped-stall, and baby-changing station are located in the rear of the main level dining area.
As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.pomodorino.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
