Where to have lunch before a matinee? We had tickets for a theater on 50th Street and decided to meet at Worldwide Plaza, a lovely park directly behind New World Stages on West 50th Street. We had been to the park before, a nice place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and just relax. We had never tried any of the restaurants located there. Today was the day! Each of the establishments offers outdoor dining.   Due to the weather we opted for  indoor dining at  Mother Burger.


If driving to this midtown Manhattan location, unless you are incredibly lucky and find a spot on the street, parking must be found at one of the nearby garages.


The street-level, double-door entrance led us to a relatively small dining area and bar.  The tables are set against the walls ot his semicircular structure.  Although not roomy,one can navigate the wooden floor to a table.


Our waitress was lovely, and very helpful in making our selections. Mother Burger’s website says, “…make sure you get all 4 food groups: (Angus) Burger, (Kobe Beef) Hot Dog, Fries, Beer! Mother’s burgers are a special blend of beef…(they make) their own Hand cut skin-on fries, veggies burgers,…and more.” Both of our burgers and salads were great.  We felt we had made a good choice for lunch.  By the time we finished eating the weather had improved and we were somewhat sorry that we had not dined outside.  Maybe next tme!
