A friend’s invitation to brunch brought me to Morning Rose Cafe, a small restaurant that was originally someone’s home. At this time Morning Rose is not handicapped-accessible. Workers are busy working on a handicapped ramp and entrance as well as restroom. They hope to be finished by mid May, Now, there are two steps up to the single door entrance.
Stepping through this door brings you right into the restaurant, a space that is tight to navigate. Most of the tables are extremely close together: so close that you could easily share your food with the people at the next table.
The website says, “…a variety of unique and creative dishes…the goal is to provide you with the most delicious meals, prepared to perfetion, with the freshest ingredients available… We will do everything we can to meet your expectations.”
Even with the tightness of the space, there was a 45 minute wait, at 11:00 am on a weekday; a testament to how delicious the food is. Our server was terrific, as well as telling us how happy she will be when the renovation is done and there are two restrooms (one handicapped-accessible). Even though the line was still long, we never felt rushed and were able to enjoy a delicious brunch/lunch, while “catching up,” with each other.
At the moment there is still only one, single-occupancy, non-handicapped restroom, located in a narrow hallway. All of that being said, I will definitely return when the work is complete.
As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, www.morningrosecafe.com, when plannning a visit, to know before you go.
