Mill Pond House Restaurant

Description

Mill Pond House Restaurant is located at 437 East Main Street in front of Mill Pond in Centerport. Parking is by the valet, so everyone is dropped off out front. There is a bench outside the front entrance if you have to wait for a friend.

Entry into the restaurant is through a single door over a saddle. Dining areas are inside and on a patio beyond that. The outside patio is enclosed in winter. There is a bar as you enter the restaurant and one on the patio.

The floors are carpeted  inside and wood outside. Tables and chairs have adequate space between them.

There are 2 single occupancy restrooms at 2 separate locations. The door on the one between the dining areas is quit narrow. The restroom at the front to the left of the bar does not have bars, but is wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. Neither restroom can be considered handicapped-accessible.

We love to eat outside, with a water view, in nice weather. To celebrate a birthday, we went for  lunch at Mill Pond House on Main Street (Route 25A), in Centerport.

We drove into the driveway to find  valet parking. The valet took the car and we walked over a saddle, through the  street-level, single door entry,  .A bench outside the door  is convenient if you have to wait for someone.  When we entered we asked the hostess for seating on the patio. Since it was on the later side for lunch, there was no problem. Earleir, we probably would have needed a reservation. We walked across the carpet  of the indoor dining room, through a single door (with another saddle) to the lovely, covered deck, and were taken to a  table close to  the water. What a beautiful view!

Our server was very pleasant and professional. Our delicious food, unhurried atmosphere and wonderful view made for a special afternoon. We did not want to leave!

Both dining areas have tables and chairs with adequate space between them.  There are two, single occupancy restrooms. The restroom closest to the dining room is very narrow. The restroom to the left of the front bar has a door opening wide enough for a wheelchair. Neither have bars to aid wheelchair users. Neither room could be called handicapped-accessible.

As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, www.millpondrestaurant.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
