Massago is an easily accessible restaurant with parking out front. The small, paved parking lot has two handicapped spaces close to the street-level, double door entrance.

I was here to meet a friend for lunch. Once iside, I was greeted by an aquarium with some “large” fish. This area also has a small sushi bar. The dining room was next. Carpeted floor, tables and banquettes with adequate space, soft lighting and decor combine to provide a serene backdrop for a calm experience. Although fairly busy at lunchtime, there was no noise. Everyone seemed to be quite calm in this setting. We were quite happy to enjoy the peaceful nature of our lunch.

“Massago utilizes the finest seasonal ingredients to emphasize the elements of color, shape, flavor and texture. Each dish is carefully chosen and arranged to enhance your dining pleasure.” (website)  Each of us was quite happy with our choices. Our quiet server was attentive and made sure that all of our requests were met seamlessly. She also made sure that our tea cups were always full!  Before we knew it, two hours had passed!

Single-occupancy, handicapped-accessible restrooms are located to the right of the entrance (as you enter).

There is an outdoor dining deck to the left of the main entrance, which was not in use on this chilly day. I am not sure that even on a nicer day I would want to sit in the parking lot. But, each to his own, as they say.

All in all, we were able to have an unhurried, delicious lunch, in a lovely setting.

As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.massagegreatneck.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
