A lunch meeting brought me to a really lovely restaurant that I had never been to. La Strada, in Merrick, has Old World Charm, delicious food, warm, friendly service and easy accessibility for all.
“La Strada is a family owned, community oriented establishment with northern Italian ambiance.”
Parking was easy in the large lot behind the restaurant. There are three accessible spaces near the street-level, back entrance, which is also the main entrance at this time (The front doors on Merrick Ave. are not open).
Once inside I felt as though I was transported to an Italian town. It is easy to forget that you are in suburban Nassau County!
I am always grateful for linen tablecloths and napkins!
Tables with armless chairs have ample space between them for all to navigate easily. A full-height bar makes the scene complete.
The variety of lunch specials made it difficult to make a decision. Our chicken with pasta and veggies was delicious (and huge). As I looked around, it seemed as though everything was equally good.
Our server was a delight! She couldn’t have done anything more for us than she did, making our lunch even nicer.
Everything about our lunch was exceptional!
A single-occupancy, accessible restroom is near the rear entrance.
As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.lastradaofmerrick.com, when planning a visit, to learn more.
