Kotobuki, Hauppauge is one of several locations. Located in a shopping center allows for many accessible parking spaces in the large, paved parking lot. The street-level, single door entrance is easy to access.

Once inside we were greeted by a welcoming person who directed us to our table. The dining room itself is modern. The space between tables is a bit tight. There is one dining area beyond the welcome area and to the right that is somewhat roomier, with an almost “semi-private” feel. If you need more space, ask to be seated there.  There is also the usual sushi bar, which even at lunchtime was quite busy.  There are several tables out front which were not being used, probably due to how hot it was that day. I think the number of diners here at lunchtime speaks to the quality of the food and the friendly and efficient service.

Our server was lovely. All I can say of the food is that it is exquisite! The many lunch choices were outstanding! Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and delicious as well. Shrimp and veggie tempura, and a Sashimi Lunch special were wonderful. The collection of specialty rolls on the menu will be one of the causes of my return.

Single-occupancy, accessible, restrooms are located in the hallway. There may be a bit of a problem fitting a wheelchair under the sink. There is no baby-changing station, but a bench in the restroom could serve that  purpose.

Our lunch was delicious. We will be back for dinner!

As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to check a venue’s website, www.kotobukirestaurants.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
