Any chance for me to have my favorite meal (sushi/sashimi) can never be passed up.  When friends suggested we meet at Kashi, Bellmore, we were delighted to try a new place. This location is one of five in the Kashi family of restaurants.

We found valet parking,  as well as two handicapped (van)-accessible, parking spaces in the paved lot.

Street-level, double doors, a small vestibule, and another single door led to the hostess area. Straight ahead was the lounge area, with several banquettes as well as a full-height bar.  To the left is the main dining room.  Booths, tables, and a sushi bar, as well as banquettes (requiring a step up) are in a beautiful, contemporary setting.  A large, floral arrangement and interesting lighting adds to the elegance of the space.  Tile floors and adequate space between tables make navigation easy.

Our dinner companions had been here previously, so were helpful as we looked over the interesting menu.  Many of the choices are inventive, and the presentation is a feast for the eyes. Our server was gracious and professional, attending to all of our requests in a pleasant manner. Drinks ordered, choices made, it was time to enjoy the atmosphere and company.  We were able to “catch up” with our friends while enjoying a delicious meal in a leisurely manner.

On my way to the two, single-occupancy, handicapped-accessible restrooms (no baby-changing facilities), I noticed a small, semi-private area with several banquettes.  I am not sure if you can request this location when making a reservation, but you can certainly check.  I think that no matter where you sit you will have a lovely experience!

As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, http://www.kashijapanese.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
