A family birthday celebration brought us to Gatsby’s Landing, located in the heart of Roslyn. We didn’t have any trouble parking on the street close by. If you don’t find a spot there is a municipal lot about two doors down.

Street-level, double doors lead to a beautiful interior. Crystal chandeliers and glass sconces contribute to the elegant decor. Tables are separated by plastic partitions. There are also banquettes and booths to offer a variety of seating. The full-height bar/lounge area has some high-top tables.

Our dining reservation on the patio required us to walk through the dining room and up a step to access the outdoors. The wooden deck is not very wide, therefore not being able to accommodate many diners. It is a lovely setting, overlooking what I remember being called the “Roslyn Duck Pond.”  Happily, there was an awning overhead and plastic “windows”  along the railing as there was a bit of rain during our dinner.

Gatsby’s Landing is known for “…New American Cuisine created from the finest seasonal ingredients.” The ambiance inside is an homage to The Great Gatsby and the North Shore Gold Coast of the early 1900’s.

Our server was lovely, very accommodating and never rushing us. She was attentive to our needs, pleasant, yet professional. Choosing what to order was difficult due to the variety of offerings. When we finally made our decisions, we ordered several different salads (each of which was excellent), a duck entree, two different pasta entrees and two different fish entrees. All were perfectly done.  Dessert choices were also difficult.  Molten chocolate lava cake, a peanut butter sundae, and tiramisu made the cut. They were all good, my personal favorite being the tiramisu!

Between the setting, the food and the service, our celebration could not have been better.

Single occupancy, accessible restrooms are located in the main dining area. They are easy to get to. Easy to enter and exit.

As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.gatsbyslanding.com, when planning a visit to know more before you go.
