The lure of a great buffalo burger brought us to Frank’s Steaks in Jericho for lunch. Frank’s is located in a strip mall on Jericho Turnpike. The large, paved parking lot has two handicapped spaces just in front of the entrance and four others a bit further away Evenings usually find a valet out front to assist because the lot gets crowded.
There is a wide, street level, single door to the small entryway, and another single door to the hostess area. If the weather permits, there are benches just outside the entrance. If not, there are chairs in the waiting area.
Our host was a pleasant young man who showed us to our table. The dining room is spacious, but nicely divided so that each area retains a feeling of intimacy. Floors are wood or carpeted, yet easy to navigate.
Banquets, tables and chairs are well spaced to accommodate all. On our visit, the room was nicely decorated for the holidays! Frank’s has a variety of easily accessible private rooms as well.
The bar/lounge area is an interesting configuraion. It has both an upper and lower level. If you proceed directly from the hostess desk there are no steps to the bar. If you walk to the right you will find two steps are required to get to the bar area.
Multi-stall (not handicapped-accessible) restrooms can be found in the hallway at the back of the lounge area. A single-occupancy, wheelchair-accessible restroom is located through one of the private dining rooms. Ask to be directed to it. There are no baby-changing stations.
Our waitress was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed a leisurely meal in a lovely setting and… our buffalo burgers were delicious!
