Cracker Barrel is a National chain of restaurants and gift stores with a Southern Country theme. As of September, 2020 there were 663 stores in 45 states. designed to resemble an old-fashioned country store. You enter a country store which you must walk through to get to the entrance to the restaurant.

Every location has a front porch with benches and rocking chairs out front, a general store selling decorative artifacts from the local area, tile floors, a fireplace in the restaurant area and tables and chairs that are well spaced for easy navigation.

Multi-stall restrooms have a very large, accessible stall, accessible sinks and a baby-changing station.

They are known for serving breakfast all day, and American comfort food.

The Cracker Barrel we visited in Clifton Park, NY, was no exception. The large parking lot had four accessible spaces close to the walkway. Street-level, double doors led to the general store. I couldn’t help but take a look around after we had ordered our food.

The hostess was lovely and was our server. We believe the menu at all of the locations are the same. We were there early in the morning, so breakfast was what we had.  Having been in other locations we knew that the food would be fine, and it was.

Cracker Barrels are usually located close to highways and main roads, making it easy for travelers to get too. It is comforting to know that you can count on a good meal with good service in a pleasant setting. The general store is a nice addition!

As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.crackerbarrel.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
