This was not our first visit to Chat Noir in Rockville Centre. We like tea and pastries and since there are not   too many tearooms on Long Island, we thought we should return to assess it for Destination:Accessible. We were fortunate to get a meter right near the restaurant. When we walked over, we were very surprised. The entrance to the restaurant was in a different spot. The tea room had expanded into the store next door and doubled in size. It is still a lovely, charming place to enjoy tea, pastries, lunch and other delicious items. The new room has beautiful tin walls and matching ceiling. There is a small ramp up to the original dining area.Tables and chairs are in both sections. Now that the restaurant is larger, it seems easier to get a reservation.

There is a slight slope up to the single door main entrance. The dining areas have ample room to get around. The single occupancy handicapped accessible restrooms are located at the rear of the original dining area.

As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, www.chatnoirtea.com when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
