After a very interesting tour of Meadowcroft Estate (see separate isting), we headed to Cafe Joelle for some lunch. It had been recommended by the docents and was every bit as good as they had told us.
Everything about it was just lovely. From easy parking in the paved, parking lot, to an easy entrance (with a small “lip”), ample space throughout, delicious food and extremely friendly service, we couldn’t have asked for anything better.
The parking lot has two accessible spaces. From there it was easy to get to the stone walkway and street-level, single door entrance. There is a small “lip” at the door which seemed to be easily navigable. A small entrway and another door lead to the heart of this beautiful venue. Light and airy, with beautiful artwork on the walls, comfortable, armless chairs at the tables, some banquettes and a full-height bar, made for a lovely venue in which we all enjoyed a delicious meal.
Besides the full-height bar, there is a lounge area with several sofas and chairs, for easy mingling.
Even though we were a party of ten, we were greeted warmed and seated almost immediately. Live flowers on the tables are a beautiful touch!
Our server, Mike, was amazing. He was able to accommodate everyone’s needs and wants with a broad smile at all times. The menu is varied, with a great lunch special as well.
Since we were never rushed, we were able to relax and chat while enjoying our choices. Some chose salads, some soup, some sandwiches. No matter what the choice, they were all excellent!
Two single-occupancy restrooms are in the rear, after the bar. The one on the left is large and accessible for all. It would be great if the owners would label that restroom, so that someone needing an accessible space can know which one it is.
All in all, we had a wonderful experience at Cafe Joelle. Give it a try if you are in the neighborhood, or maybe even make a date to go there. We don’t think you will be disappointed!
