Friends brought us to Azerbaijan Grill, on Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow.  This is a new location for this restaurant, and our friends had not been here yet. Having now had this wonderful experience, we have to say “thank you” to our friends for introducing us to it.

There is one accessible parking spot right next to the restaurant, along with two other spaces. If you can’t park here, you can drop any passengers off, drive to the back and park in the large, paved lot.

There appeared to be some seating in front of the street-level, double door entrance, but it was not in use. When we entered we found ourselves in a lovely, spacious Persian inspired setting. Tables are very well spaced, making navigation to any seat easy. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. There is an upper level ( five steps), which has a grand piano and more seating, but it is not necessary to sit there. If you are making a reservation, just ask for a seat on the main level. We were seated at a round table, which was perfect for the six in our party. There is a small bar/lounge area, as well as what appears to be a large party room on the opposite side.

Warm pita and delicious, dipping sauce was served as soon as we sat down. The menu is quite extensive and our server was wonderful in helping us decide what, and how much, we needed to order. We tried a variety of salads (all were great), as well as a variety of entrees. Everything, from the fresh fish, to a variety of kabobs, as well as grilled veggies, was excellent! The Persian ice cream for dessert, was exquisite! Everyone loved what they had! During our meal, the owner visited our table to make sure everything was to our liking. It was! Everything about our visit was exceptional. We will definitely add this to our “go to” places!

Large, single occupancy, accessible restrooms are located in the rear, behind the bar.

As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to check a venue’s website, www.azerbaijangrill.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
