Tickets to a performance at the Argyle Theater brought us to the Argyle Grill and Tavern for dinner before the show. They do not take reservations and it was suggested that we arrive before 5:30 in order to get a table. We lucked out – our friends arrived about 5:15 and were lucky to get a table.
It turned out to be the beginning of a great evening, wonderful dinner and great show!
Parking must be found on the street, or in one of the municipal lots close by. The restaurant is close to the theater, which is great.
The street-level, single door leads to a small entryway and another door to the restaurant itself. When we arrived, the full-height bar was “packed.” We made our way to the table in the back where our friends were already seated. Although not “spacious” there is adequate room to navigate. It is probably much easier when it is not quite so crowded.
The restaurant was created as a tribute to the once grand, Argyle Hotel. It has interesting decor, high ceilings, mirrors and murals that make for a grand setting for delicious food and warm, friendly service. Our Goat Cheese and Chicken Salad, Argyle Prime Burger, Chicken Cardinal, and Shrimp and Spinach Pasta were all excellent! Pair those with the fact that we were never rushed made for a wonderful dinner. PS – The Cappuccino was terrific!
Multi-stall restrooms are in the back of the rear dining area and up six steps. There is an accessible, single-occupancy restroom in the rear of the front dining area. If you don’t know to ask about an accessible restroom you would not know that it is there. It says, “Private” on the door.
As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.theargylegrill.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go,”
We will definitely be back!
