Headed to The Paramount, for a performance, we found our way to The Tap Room, Huntington. Located directly across the street from The Paramount, it is a perfect place ,either pre or post performance.
Their website states that with nine locations on Long Island, each one “aims to replicate the unique combination of warmth quality fare and exceptional beer selections.” Real food and craft beverages combine with a welcoming space in every community they serve. They offer “elevated pub fare plus 20 beers on tap.” If Huntington is representative of all of the venues, we will be visiting more of them.
Being Huntington, parking can be problematic. We were very lucky to score a space on the street. If you are not that lucky, there are several municipal lots about a block away. Be sure to pay for your parking!
It’s great that if you are headed to the theater you only have to park once.
There is a slight incline to enter the street-level, double doors, entryway and another set of double doors to the welcome area. This is a large venue, with ample space throughout. There is a full-height bar with a good number of TV’s above for the sports fans! Floors are smooth wood. Seating is at tables (hi-top and regular) and chairs (armless). There was even a TV in the area where we were seated – my better half was happy to be able to watch the golf match!
Our server was pleasant and didn’t rush us when we could not make up our minds about what to order. When we finally decided, our burgers, salads, and wraps, were all quite good. No one ordered a beer, so we will have to return to try some.
A large, single-occupancy, accessible restroom is located in a hallway in the back.
After our pleasant, relaxed dinner we proceeded to the performance, which was great!
As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.taproomofny.com, to learn more about it.
