A business lunch brought me to Sushi Vogue, Woodbury. Located in a strip mall with Party City, on Jericho Turnpike, there are three accessible parking spaces in the paved lot. The street-level, single door entrance leads to a small entryway and other single door to the restaurant itself.
Although the venue is not large, there is adequate space to navigate to the booths, tables and sushi bar in the rear. In warm weather, there is some seating outside.
We were a large group that had a variety of choices for lunch. Everything was beautifully presented and everything was delicious. My sushi, sashimi lunch was excellent. My table mates said the same for the items they ordered. Even though we were a large group, the service was quite pleasant and professional. All of our preferences were carefully noted and taken care of. Our server made sure that everything was to our liking. Usually, at a business lunch (or breakfast or dinner), there may not be a lot of attention paid to the diners. We must say that was not the case for us. Considering our experience for lunch, we will definitely be back for dinner!
The accessible, single-occupancy restrooms are in a long hallway behind the sushi bar. It is unfortunate that extra chairs and high chairs line the hallway, which might make it difficult for a wheelchair to get by. Although the sink is accessible, both the hand towels and air dryer may be too high for someone in a wheelchair to reach easily. There is no baby-changing station.
As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website when planning a visit, to “know before you go!”
