After our visit to Greenport Brewing Company in town, and a conversation with the woman behind the bar there, we thought about having lunch at Greenport Harbor Brewery in Peconic. As she told us about the exceptional chef, great food and distinctive venue we knew it was a “must.” It was definitely a good decision! Housed in what used to be a car dealership, it has been turned into a large tasting area with a very long bar, tables and benches, plus a dining area, also with many communal tables, benches and chairs. You order your food at the tasting bar and pick it up in the other room. The overhead garage doors, a part of the quirky decor, were wide open on the beautiful day we were there. Smooth, concrete floors help “the garage” atmosphere. If you want a completely outdoor experience, you can relax in one of the airondack chairs on the large lawn.
The parking lot is gravel. You can enter without having to traverse gravel by using the garage door on the left.
Back to the food! Greenport’s website says they serve, “…locally sourced ingredients from produce to protein and seafood…all grown, harvested, or raised here on the North Fork…” We can only say that we loved what we ordered!
There is a single-occupancy, handicapped-accessible restroom in the dining area and four, single-occupancy restrooms in the tasting room (two of which are handicapped-accessible). There are no baby-changing stations.
As always, we atDestination Accessible, advise you to check a venue’s website, www.greenportharborbrewing.com, when planning a visit, to know before you go.
