Luke and Steven Gotsiridz were seniors at Hofstra University, when they were given their final assignment for business: design a restaurant, find a location, create the menu, and open it to the public before graduation. They already had had success with a food truck selling only crepes, which they learned how to do from their grandmother. |
When the brothers found their space, a tiny “hold in the wall,” not even visible from the street, the magic began.
With the help of family, they decoded with charming wallpaper, beautiful crystal chandeliers, gold-rimmed mirrors and French sconces.
You have to walk from the street down the iron portico walkway to the single door entrance. There is a slight decline after entering.
There is very limited, but accessible, seating, which is enhanced in the nice weather by outdoor metal tables and chairs.
There is a table with an adorable DJ (sorry not really, but may take requests if you ask)! The music was admittedly a bit too loud for my old ears they they graciously turned it down!
All of this is only a slight enhancement to the delicious crepes. Although there is a limited menu of savory and sweet crepes, the bothers will customize any requests.
Most noise heard above the music were the moms, ahhs, and other foodgasms attesting to the unique and wonderful tastes.
There is a single-occupancy, accessible restroom, with a grab bar and accessible sink. It would be great if they could lower the mirror a bit to make it easier for a wheelchair user.
In closing, think of G-Crepes as a treasure hunt, with the clues being; hoping for a close steet parking space or finding the municipal lot several blocks away, cannot be seen from the sidewalk (you need to find the iron encase portico walkway, and become enchanted by the elegant decor and scrumptious crepes!!!
