We have now been to DJ’s several times, each time ordering something different from the time before and loving what we have ordered each time! Their website says that they, “…bring the taste of southern seafood up north…a mixture of New England and Southern seafood…fresh seafood in a casual, fun atmosphere.” Whatever they do, they do it really well! Not only is evereything really good, but the staff is delightful as well. It is a fun place! We have had a great experience each time we have been there.
Parking is not great, the small lot next to the building does not have any desisgnated handicapped spaces. Pakring often has to be found on the street. We have never had a problem, but we have never been there at a very busy time. The street-level, single door takes one right into the restaurant. It is quite narrow up here, one practically walks directly into the counter where you place your order. Next, find a seat at one of the wooden tables – the rear is more spacious than the front – and your order will be brought to you. My “better half” is still in his wheelchair and we were able to navigate to a table in the back. As I said, not spacious, but doable, and worth it!
A single-occupancy, handicapped-accessible restroom is located in the rear. It is large, with a sink that accommodates a wheelchair. Unfortunately, there is no baby-changing station.
As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.djsclamshackwantagh.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
