There’s another member of the Dirty Taco family in Smithtown!  This family chain has expanded once again, to their largest venue yet, and it is as terrific as one would expect. This “hybrid of LA taco truck and Miami liquor stand… has an authentic urban feel.” (website)  The decor follows its upbeat siblings with fun decorations. The large venue has great garage doors that are open for great air flow. It definitely has that indoor/outdoor feeling, no matter where you are sitting!

High and low top tables and chairs, some banquettes and a large, full-height, L-shaped bar area, all have ample room for easy navigation. The open floor plan is also very helpful. It would have been nice if they had been able to make some of the bar accessible to wheelchair users.

You can’t help but smile when you enter and look around. Everyone is having a great time and enjoying the interesting food choices. It is an unusual twist to classic Mexican style foods. Many Asian elements are incorporated in their menu. We tried the Tuna Poke, Chicken Tinga, Kung Pao Chicken, Buffalo Shrimp and Teriyaki Salmon tacos. One was better than the next! We cannot leave out the scrumptious Tres Leches for dessert. It was too good!  We also cannot leave out our lovely server, who made sure everything was perfect for us. “Dirty Taco believe in living clean and eating Dirty.”

We forgot to say that parking was easy in the large, paved lot. Two accessible spaces are close to the street-level, double door entrance.

We also need to mention the multi-stall restrooms, located to the right of the bar area. There is a large, accessible stall, accessible sinks and a baby-changing station.

We love everything about this venue and will be back soon. We can’t wait to take our granddaughter. She will love their vegetarian choices! We are also looking forward to their next sibling, in Port Washington!

As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.dirtytacoandtequila.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
