We love Dirty Taco in Woodbury and Smithtown. Today was our first opportunity to visit the Port Washington location. It was a perfect summer day for an outdoor lunch overlooking the water.
Parking is easy in the large, paved lot. Checking in at the welcome desk was also easy. During the summer, lunch on an outdoor patio, overlooking the marina and Manhasset Bay, is perfect for me. Unfortunately, if you want to sit outside you need to navigate either one of two steps to reach the two outdoor patios. There is another option, which I discovered later. You can go through the indoor dining area to what I would call the “indoor/outdoor” area. You are technically inside the building, but the large open windows make you feel as though you are outside. It is quite lovely.
Of course there are high and low seating options inside, along with two large, full-height bars (one inside and one outside).
No matter where you sit, the food is delicious. Their interesting twist to classic Mexican food is really enjoyable. . Asian elements are incorporated into the menu, offering a wide variety of items to suit every taste. Today’s Tuna Nachos, Kung Pan Chicken and Jamaican Jerk Tacos, were no exception. I don’t remember every ordering anything that wasn’t delicious.
Our server was very friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. Great food, pleasant service, and a beautiful setting made for a relaxing lunch.
Multi-stall restrooms with a large, accessible stall are located around a corner past the indoor bar. The door to the accessible stall in the women’s restroom may be a bit difficult to enter, due to it’s location. There is a baby-changing station in here as well.
