There’s a great new restaurant in Kings Park. Diner Dash, in the Key Food Shopping Center, is cozy and welcoming. A bit of a retro feel goes well with the delicious food, plentiful portions, great staff and friendly service. All of this, plus easy accessibility, are the reasons to check it out.
Parking is plentiful in the large, paved, parking lot. There are accessible spaces close to Diner Dash, as well as others throughout the lot.
The street-level, single door, leads to a small entryway and another door to the restaurant itself.
Each time we have been there we were warmly welcomed and shown to a booth. Besides booths, there are tables and chairs (armless), which are well-spaced for easy navigation. There is also a counter with stools.
Sit down and begin looking at the large menu, and before you know it, cole slaw, pasta salad, and pickled beets appear on the table. Besides the bread, this is quite a treat! It was difficult to decide on what to order, but it didn’t matter, everything was delicious. A chef’s salad, a Cobb salad, a spinach omelette and a chicken hero were amazing and huge. There was more than enough left over for at least another meal!
The staff is very friendly, and the owner is often present, checking to see that everything is to your liking and making sure you have everything you need/want.
A single-occupancy, restroom is located in the rear. Although considered accessible, there is only one grab bar and the towel dispenser could be lowered to accommodate a wheelchair user.
If you haven’t visited Diner Dash yet, now is the time to go. You won’t be disappointed.
Although we always tell people to visit a venue’s website when planning a visit, we cannot do this with Diner Dash because they do not have a website.
