Self-parking is available in the yellow lot between JFK Terminals 5 and 7. I have been unable to find out how many handicapped spaces are available here. “Connie welcomes you aboard her newly-renovated cabin, where vintage inspired cocktails and snacks are served with a smile. Don’t forget to pop into her cockpit and navigate the original controls.” (website) This was what I read about this venue.
Before we go any further, we must tell you that the only way in and out is up and down one of the Connie’s two flights of stairs (15 in front, 11 in the rear.) Also note that there are small entryways and no restrooms aboard.
If you can manage the steps, you are welcome to step inside an actual 1950 Lockheed Constellation – only one of four remaining in the world. Sitting on the tarmac behind the new TWA Hotel, it has been refigured as a cocktail lounge, with twelve, actual arline seats, and the rest, long couches and cocktail tables. Gracious servers in TWA uniforms serve drinks, which come from actual TWA menus, Snacks are also available. You can also visit the cockpit and play with the controls. Everything comes from actual parts of planes.
We did not have any trouble getting in and being served. We even had our choice of seats! We have been told that it gets quite busy – but – you can make reservations! This is a “must visit!” We are so glad we went!
