Brownstones, Amityville is one of four locations of this wonderful, daytime only, cafe. Unique, turn-of-the-century decor, along with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, delicious food and service, combine to make any breakfast or lunch special.
This was my first visit to this location for a meeting, and it didn’t disappoint in any way. Parking required a bit of a wait in the paved, lot. Two accessible spaces are at the far end from the cafe. Benches outside make waiting easy, especially if the weather is good.
We had hoped to sit in their outdoor patio, but it was not open during our visit. Sitting inside turned out to be fine, with tables well-spaced both for navigation and conversation. There are some booths and banquettes as well as the tables.
Our server was lovely and never rushed us. The menu is so large and interesting it is difficult to make a choice. Both of our choices (a magnificent omelette and huge egg sandwich on a croissant) were not only delicious, but large enough that we had left overs for lunch! The coffee choices were amazing as well – my cappuccino was terrific!
The large, accessible, single-occupancy restrooms are easy to get to, located in the rear of the dining room.
We could not have asked for anything more for our breakfast meeting.
FYI – They do not take reservations, but they have a wait-list you can sign up with.
