A lovely spring day, perfect for outdoor dining, brought me to Besito, Huntington. This is one of three Besitos on Long Island, and the first one I have been to.
Parking in Huntington is never easy. One has to find a spot on the street, or go to one of the municipal lots – the closest one to this venue is about two blocks away.
There are not many tables on the street, but we were able to secure one, as it was a bit late for lunch (around 1:30pm). Sitting outside was perfect!
If you choose to sit inside, you won’t be disappointed. The sophisticated decor is lovely – a mix of Old Mexico and modern fashion house styling. I loved that there are tablecloths on the tables even though it was lunch. Rich wood on the walls, and tile on the floors help to enhance the ambiance. There are tables, booths, banquettes, and a full-height bar to choose from, and a back dining area that requires three steps up to reach it. There is ample space to navigate throughout.
Our server was delightful as well as helpful. Being my first time there I had more than a few questions. Each of them was answered with good humor. Both the salmon and fajitas we ordered were excellent. I understand that their guacamole is delicious as well. Next time…
Single-occupancy, accessible restrooms are located in the rear of the dining room. There is a baby-changing station.
Besito, Huntington is a delightful Mexican restaurant that we will definitely return to.
