A business event brought me to Soho in Suffolk, one of two new event spaces in the heart of Suffolk County.
Parking was easy in the large lot in the rear. There do not seem to be any dedicated accessible spaces.
The second floor is dedicated to Soho in Suffolk, where there are several “event spaces.” They are sophisticated party rooms that “boast high ceilings, exposed brick walls and contemporary finishes. Minimalistic decor and versatile layouts serve as blank canvases for…celebrations.” (website) One of the rooms is an all-white, Manhattan-style area, which took my breath away. If you want your event to feel like you are in Manhattan, without having to travel there, this just might be for you!
Our event was in the room with the brick wall. Tables were well-spaced, with ample room for navigation. Buffet-style food was set up for easy access (and it was delicious!).
My understanding is that, as an event space, you rent the venue and plan the event you want. There are people available to help you plan and coordinate your event. They have caterers, etc. available, or you can choose your own.
The owners wanted to bring a Manhattan vibe to Suffolk County and they are ready and willing to help you make your dream a reality.
If you are planning an event, contact them for more information.
There are three, single-occupancy restrooms throughout, two of which are accessible.
As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to visit a venue’s website, www.sohoinsuffolk.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
Hope we get invited to another event soon.
