Javier’s Cafe, Smithtown, is a gem of a restaurant. Located on East Main Street, this storefront breakfast/lunch venue can be passed by, but don’t!
“Fully family owned and operated” they serve homestyle food. Their motto of “Good Food, Good Life,” shows in what they serve and how they serve it. We always have a great experience here!
You can park in the large lot directly across the street, or you can go around the street (to the left) to the back and park in the smaller lot here. If you park in the back, be aware that you need to walk down four steps to get to the outdoor patio and then enter the restaurant or you need to walk all the way around to enter the street-level entrance. If steps are a problem, much better to park across the street. That way, even if you want to sit outside, under the tent, you can get there without involving any steps.
Seating throughout is at tables and chairs, all well-spaced for easy navigation. The brick patio also has tables and chairs.
Our server was very pleasant and attentive, making sure our coffee cups were always full, and checking to see that all was well with us. The great service is matched by delicious food. We each had different omelettes and each was exceptional. The egg sandwich was great as well! This is why we always return!
Large, accessible, single-occupancy restrooms are located in the rear of the dining room (no steps required to get to it). The sinks are accessible as well. Happily, there is also a baby-changing station.
Be aware that they only accept cash!
