An invitation to lunch brought me to what I will call a “hidden gem” of a restaurant, The Hearth Room at The Inn at Fox Hollow. I had no idea that someone who was not a guest could go to the hotel for anything other than dinner at “Volpe” their premier restaurant.

What a pleasant surprise in every way! Parking was easy in the paved lot in front of the main entrance. There are four accessible spots if you need one. The brick entrance is covered, which is great if the weather is not great.  The street-level, double doors have push-button assist for both the outer and inner doors.

The lobby, though small, is beautiful! I could not take my eyes off the gorgeous flower arrangement, which takes center stage. Beyond those flowers is a welcoming fireplace with some very comfortable chairs.

To the right of the fireplace is the entrance to the Hearth Room, which, apparently is open to all for lunch. I am not quite sure about dinner – and, I forgot to ask.  I said that this is a hidden gem because no place on their website could I find any information about lunch here. My friend knew about it because of holding business meetings here. I am certainly glad she thought about coming here.

Tables and chairs are very well spaced and the floors throughout are smooth, making for easy navigation and conversation. The other side of the fireplace from the lobby is here, making it warm and relaxing. Large windows look out on the pool area and I am told that there is lovely dining out there in warmer weather. I will definitely be back to try it out.

Our server, Dylan, was quite gracious. Even though we were there a few minutes before they officially opened, he offered to take our order. He checked in with us often to make sure everything was OK. Everything was more than OK, it was terrific. The menu, while not huge, was more than adequate. Grilled veggie wraps and done-to-perfection, sweet potato fries made for delicious lunches. The ambiance is worth it all.

Multi-stall, restrooms with a large, accessible stall are located in the lobby. Sinks are accessible as well. Unfortunately, there are no baby-changing stations.

This is one of the nicest venues we have found that is easily accessible and lovely.

As always, we advise you to visit a venue’s website, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”  In this case, we would advise calling for any questions you may have. (516) 224-8100.
