Sangria 71, Commack, is located at 1095 Jericho Turnpike, Commack. There are six handicapped-accessible spaces in the paved parking lot. There is a ramp, or four steps to the single door entrances. Seating is available in the foyer, with double doors leading to the host area.

Indoor seating consists of tables and chairs, a full-height bar and high-top tables in the lounge area. Outdoor seating is either under a tent or completely outdoors. Most of the outdoor seating does not require any steps. The upper outdoor area has a step up. There are heat lamps.

Multi-stall restrooms have a large, handicapped-stall, wheelchair-accessible sinks and baby-changing station.

As the days grow shorter and cooler, we are happy for one more dinner outdoors. We have no idea when it will end for those of us who are not yet ready to dine inside. With that in mind we were delighted to accept an invitation for dinner with friends at Sangria 71, in Commack. 

No only do they have outdoor seating, there is a choice of sitting under a tent, or out in the open. Since we wanted to be completely outside, we luckily got a table between the fire pit and a heat lamp. As the sun went down, the heat lamp (which our server graciously moved to give us more heat) was wonderful. I can’t say how low the temperature will have to go before I am no longer happy this way, but for this evening I loved it!

Sangria 71 has several locations. Having not been to the others, I can only say that, given the opportunity, I will be happy to go.  Our experience here in Commack could not have been better;  great food, attentive service, and at this time, attention to Covid safety, made for a lovely, relaxing evening. We loved that there was a bottle of hand-sanitizer on the table when we arrived. The staff all wore masks and gloves.  Their website describes Sangria 71 as a “family style restaurant specializing in the Flavors of Spain…” The menu had so many good choices it was difficult to order. Our entree choices ranged from chicken, to bronzini, to a huge lobster tail and shrimp. Everyone loved everything! 

If you want to dine inside, there are tables and chairs in the dining room, a full-height bar and high-top tables in the lounge area. There is ample space between tables.

I have gotten a bit ahead of myself, forgetting to detail the parking and entrance. There are six handicapped spaces in the paved parking lot near the front entrances and ramp. If you are using the steps, there are four of them to the single door. The ramp will get you to the door on the other side. Both of the doors lead to a waiting area, complete with padded seating. From here, double doors open to the host area. 

If you are being seated outside, you can get there from the parking lot without any steps. The upper area requires a step up from the parking lot or three steps down from the main entrance level. 

If you cannot do steps, you need to return to the parking lot and go around to the front ramp to access the building to get to the multi-stall restrooms. Each has a large handicapped stall, wheelchair-accessible sinks and a baby-changing station.
