Piccolo Mondo is located at 1870 E. Jericho Turnpike, Huntington. There are no designated handicapped spaces in the paved parking lot. One step up to the sidewalk and then down again to the outdoor dining area. If going inside, the door is street-level.

Tables are well-spaced. Servers are wearing masks and maintaining good distancing.

Single-occupancy restrooms (not handicapped-accessible) require walking down three steps from the indoor dining room. There is a full-height bar.

Another adventure in outdoor dining, at reopened venues, brought us to Piccolo Mondo in Huntington. Having never been there, we actually had difficulty finding it. Although its address is on E. Jericho Turnpike, it is tucked in the middle of a small shopping area and hard to notice. The sign on Jericho Turnpike isn’t much of a help. I can only say that now that we know where it is, we will be back.

We did not see any designated handicapped spaces in the paved, parking lot. This is probably not a problem as not all of the stores are occupied. Although the outdoor dining area is in the parking lot, they have made it into a lovely, covered, dining room, complete with tablecloths. The tables are very well-spaced. Our server was lovely and efficient. Everyone had on masks and kept their distance as much as possible. My only concern is that hand-sanitizer was not clearly available or offered. It was difficult to choose from the many selections on the menu. Each of the four of us had different entrees, which were all delicious. Tartuffo for dessert was served like a sundae, complete with whipped cream. Cappuccino was the perfect ending. 

If you or someone in your party has a mobility challenge, there are, unfortunately, two things to consider. The first is that in order to get to the “dining area” one must step up from the parking lot to the sidewalk and then back down to the dining area. I suspect that, if you ask, they can find a way to avoid this. The second item, which might be of greater concern is the restrooms. Naturally, they are inside. In order to get to them one must walk down three steps. There is no other way. Also, they are rather small and not handicapped-accessible. 

If you and your party can manage the afore-mentioned items, we can only say that you will not be disappointed with a meal here.
