This was our first visit back to Jackson’s since Covid hit. The food was still great and the staff terrific.
“Jackson’s…has been providing Long Islanders with a relaxed, fun atmosphere for eating and drinking since 2006.” (website) They call themselves a “gastropub,” – unpretentious American food and small batch spirits. (website) The black and white tile floors, vintage Coke machine and gas pump help make the retro atmsophere interesting.
There is some parking on the side of the builidng and a large, paved, parking lot in the rear. There are two accessible spaces near the rear “party entrance.” The street-level, single door, main entrance is on the side of the building. A small entryway, and another single door lead to the welcome area. If you don’t find parking near the entrance, you can drop your passenger off and then park.
One of the things we really like is that we are able to make a reservation! There were four of us in our group and were given a very spacious booth – easily comfortable enough for six! Four of us had three different burgers and we each ordered a different side. Everything was great! The homemade veggie burger was one of the best I have ever had. The kobe burgers were amazing and the turkey burger was tasty as well. There are other things on the menu as well. We will try them on another visit – although I might have to remain loyal to the veggie burger! I almost forgot to mention that our server was lovely as well as efficient.
The floor is tile and there is ample space between tables. A good number of tables seem to have been removed due to Covid. Not sure if or when they will be back. There is a full-height bar with tvs above. Multi-stall restrooms, with an accessible stall and what appears to be a baby-changing table, are located in the rear hallway. Unfortunately, the sink is not wheelchair accessible.
Even though it tends to get livelier as the evening goes on, this is a fun place with a relaxing atmosphere, good food and great service. We always come back!
