After our tour of the 9/11 site, surrounding area and One world Observatory we were tired and hungry. Although there is a vast food court with a wealth of choices we opted for Seamore’s, a restaurant we decided to try partly because of its interesting name.
We entered the single-door entrance directly from inside Brookfield Place. You can also enter from the street, through street-level double doors, and their outdoor dining area. Either way it is quite easy. The décor is upbeat, giving one a happy feeling. There are several dining areas, each with different types of seating. There is a full-height bar and lounge area with high-top tables, a sushi bar, tables, and banquettes. We were seating in the outdoor patio which has over-sized, wood-topped tables. An air-stream trailer sat there, serving as an outdoor bar in the evening. So cute!
We discovered that this location is one of six in a small, local chain. Apparently this one only opened several months ago. Their website says they are “…known for excellent, healthy and fun seafood that is 100% sustainable, and sourced as close to home as possible. Their food is “…offered at an accessible price point…simple yet delicious.” They offer “…a healthy option, that is incredibly tasty, super fun and environmentally sound, allowing guests to feel good about their choice in seafood options.” We certainly enjoyed our choices! Four of us each ordered something different and all of us were quite happy with our food. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. And we can say that the price was quite fair for the location and taste. As we left we all agreed – good choice!
There are two, single-occupancy, handicapped-accessible women’s rooms and two for the men. There are no baby-changing facilities.
As always, we at Destination Accessible, advise you to check a venue’s website, http://www.seamores.com when planning a visit to know before you go.
