Someone had mentioned Fun Station to me as a venue I might want to visit. Having some time available between appointments, I gave them a call and received a gracious invitation from a manager to visit anytime.
The large, paved, parking lot has one handicapped space close to the street-level, double-door entrance. Once inside, I found a one-level, cavernous space chocked full of activities. It looks like an indoor amusement park. There are a variety of rides, including a whirl around, helicopters and bumper cars. The climbing maze has a toddler (under four years) area, and a “first floor,” that doesn’t require any steps. There is also a very large selection of video games.
The entire area is carpeted and/or tile. Benches are located throughout, with plenty of chairs and tables in the snack bar area.
Multi-stall, handicapped-accessible restrooms, with baby-changing stations have an easily negotiated slight incline to enter.
A conversation with the very pleasant manager helped me to understand some things about the rides. Bumper cars are strictly one person per car. Some of the rides have height requirements, some allow an adult to accompany a child, or put the child on the ride. Ride attendants are available to help at all times. All of the kids I saw seemed to be having a great time! This destination seems like a great place to take the kids if it’s too hot, too cold, rainy or snowy!
