A restaurant that had been a pie company, is what I was told about Painter’s Restaurant. I had not been to this interesting venue since before Covid, and was happy to find that it was just as good as before.

The parking lot has two (van) accessible spaces close to the stone walkway and street-level double door entrance. A stone entryway and another set of double doors lead to the welcome area. Just looking ahead makes you think you must be able to walk up two steps to the dining and bar areas. Not the case. Happily, there is a ramp to the left that gets you to one of the large dining areas as well as connecting to what I would call the main dining room. Take your pick of seating at tables (both high and low), booths, and a very large, U-shaped, full-height bar. The entertainment area consists of large tables, as well as couches, to sit and enjoy the live, weekend, entertainment.  There is ample space everywhere, so navigation is easy.

This unique environment is a great venue for art lovers, who love to eat. Floor-to-ceiling art is everywhere. You can be an artist while you wait for your food with brown paper covering each table, and crayons to allow your inner artist to come out!  The old factory, rustic vibe combines with modern food for a fun experience.

My friend and I were there at lunchtime. Besides the eclectic art all around, we found the menu to be eclectic as well. Lots of interesting choices, We finally decided on a Cobb Salad, and a Mango, Avocado, Pecan, Goat Cheese Salad. They were both delicious! Almost forgot to mention our server, who was great. He was very accommodating, graciously indulging all of our requests with a sincere smile on his face. We were able to have a very relaxing, tasty lunch in an interesting setting.

FYI, there is outdoor seating as well, although it was not available when we were there.

Finally, we have to mention the restrooms. If I hadn’t asked, we would not have known that there are two, single-occupancy, accessible restrooms in the rear of the dining room. When we walked in we saw the restrooms that are in the “lobby area.” They are quite small and not accessible. We thought that was probably all there was. I am so happy to report that there are accessible ones.

Painter’s is an easily accessible, interesting venue, with good food and service. Check it out!
