We have always loved seeing performances at the Bayway Arts Center in East Islip. Although it is now known as Studio Theatre’s Bayway Arts Center, we are sure we will continue to enjoy performances there.
Although I did not see a performance this time, I hope to be back for one soon. I was invited to see the work going on to ready the theater before the season begins.
Parking is still available both in front and back of the theater, with a total of 10 accessible spaces. In front, a brick walkway with three stone steps ( or a ramp on either side) lead to a stone entryway and double doors. There are two, street-level, single door entrances at the rear, leading to long hallways to the box office and theater entrance.

Multi-stall restrooms, with accessible stalls are located in the hallways near the rear entrances. Although a bit small, the accessible stalls are manageable. Entry and exit are easy. The men’s room is in one hallway, the ladies’ room in the other.
New to the venue is Nick’s Cafe, a lovely space for a drink, snack, or just a spot to sit and “chill.” At times there is live music to set the mood.
We look forward to seeing our first performance in this renovated space. We know it will be great!
