La Baraka is located at 255-09 Northern Blvd., Little Neck, NY. There is a small parking lot in back. Otherwise one must find street parking.Street level, narrow, double doors lead to a small entryway and another set of narrow, double doors. The restaurant is small and space is tight. Some tables have more space around them than others. Flat carpet is on the floor.
Single-occupancy restrooms are located in the rear. They are not handicapped-accessible.

La Baraka has been in business for more than 35 years. It’s longevity speaks volumes for its “…combination of great food, consistently prepared, and superb personal service.” (website). As is the case with many of the venues on Destination:Accessible, we had not been here for many years and had forgotten how lovely it is.
A small parking lot with one handicapped space is located behind the restaurant. Otherwise, parking must be found on the street. We were lucky to find a spot on the street.
The street-level double doors at the entrance are rather narrow, but will accommodate a wheelchair. There is a small entryway and another set of the same size doors.
As soon as we entered we were greeted by the lovely hostess. The attention to detail in the décor and dishes, as well as the service and food, point directly to the family that owns La Baraka.
The cuisine is considered French/Moroccan. No matter what one calls it, it is delicious! Special attention was given to our requests (one of our party is gluten free, another has a seed/nut allergy). We had arrived early enough to partake of the “Twilight Dinner,” which was quite a treat! Everything we ordered was delicious, from the appetizers and soups, to the entrees and desserts.
Carpet covers he floor and space is tight. Some tables have more space around them than others. Accommodation was made for the group at the table next to ours, where one of the patrons was in a wheelchair.
Based upon noticing the person in the wheelchair, I expected the restrooms to be handicapped-accessible. However, what I found was not the case. The two single-occupancy restrooms are not considered wheelchair-accessible. Although the ladies’ room is adequate to fit a wheelchair in, there are no handrails. The men’s room is somewhat smaller. There are no baby-changing facilities. If you are thinking of visiting La Baraka and think you may have a problem with this situation I would suggest calling them ( (718) 428 – 1461 ). Considering how lovely everyone was, I believe that they will work with you and your situation.
