Meeting friends for dinner is a favorite pastime on Long Island, and we did. A restaurant that accepts reservations is always a plus, and so we found ourselves headed to Trullo D’Oro.
A valet took our car and we walked the stone walkway to the street-level, double door entrance. A small entryway and another single door led to the red and white checkered table cloth dining room. Smooth floors and ample space between tables made navigation easy. A full height bar with a quartz top, wood from wine crates, and decorated with Italian tiles is located along the right side of the dining room. A half wall separates the bar area from the dining room. The décor is casual, yet inviting.
We had plenty of time to make our choices from the inviting menu. The website describes the menu as “…authentic Italian…featuring a little something for everyone, from salads and appetizers to pastas and delicious Italian classic entrees.” Our pleasant server helped us with some suggestions. Several appetizers and entrees later, we were hard-pressed to order desert, some of which are made in house and some brought in from elsewhere. We opted to share two of the ones made in house with our cappuccinos. Good choices !
A single-occupancy, handicapped-accessible restroom is located in the rear of the dining room. Multi-stall (not handicapped-accessible) restrooms are located down a flight of stairs. There are no baby-changing facilities.
As always, we at Destination:Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, http://www.trullo-doro.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
