Wanting a Chinee dinner we decided to visit Beijing House, a restaurant we had not been to for some time. Located in a small strip-mall it is easy to miss. If you look for The Vitamin Shoppe, you will find it. The paved parking lot has two handicapped-spaces. Unfortunately, the curb cut between the handicapped spaces is missing a large chunk of concrete, so be careful!
Street-level, double doors lead to a small entryway and another single door to the restaurant itself.
This restaurant is not large, it is a storefront operation that makes the most of the space it has. There is adequate room between tables. Some tables are located along the hallway towards the back . There are also two banquettes. The decor has been redone since our last visit. It is simple, but lovely. with white walls, soft wall sconces, pleasant artwork, and high-back upholstered chairs. Full-length windows complete the look. Tablecloths and a single, red rose on each table are a lovely touch.
Our waiter and server were pleasant and efficiet. The menu was fun to look through, with images of many of the dishes. I must say that the eggplant that was recommended to me was delicious! The dumplings were great and my husband loved his chicken entree. The portions were so generous in size that we have dinner for tommow! All in all a lovely, delicious place for dinner that was as good as we remembered it.
Large, single-occupancy, handicapped-accessisble restrooms are located in the hallway in the rear. The sink is able to accommodate a wheelchair user. There are no baby-changing stations.
As always, we at Destination:Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, www.beijinghouseus.com, when planning a visit, to “~~#B22222:__know before you go.”
