Santorini is an easily accessible, authentic Greek restaurant with wonderful food and service. Family owned since 1992, they have a “…vision and passion to provide authentic Greek Food, using the best and freshest ingredients at a fair price, served in a comfortable, clean atmosphere.” (website) Everything about it is excellent.
There is a town lot behind the restaurant as well as one across the street. We found five accessible spaces, four of which are van-accessible. There also seems to be plenty of timed street parking (read the signs). If you park in the lot you have to walk around to the front entrance.
A distinctive, royal blue canvas entryway makes this street level entrance easy to see. A single door leads to the large waiting area (benches and chairs) which seemed to be nice for the many people picking up their “take-out” orders.
Since we were there early and the restaurant was not crowded I thought that the very brisk take-out business was a testament to the quality of the food. It is!
Santorini is quite spacious, with tile floor, many large booths as well as well-spaced tables and chairs, nice for both navigation and conversation. Subtle, blue lighting and artwork reminiscent of the Greek Isle of Santorini made for a lovely atmosphere. There is a small outdoor dining area on the street. It was a great place to meet with friends we hadn’t seen for awhile.
Our server was very pleasant and efficient. The eggplant appetizers and spanakopita were absolutely delicious. The Greek salads that accompanied our entrees were quite good, including the “more interesting than usual” salad dressing. Everything we had was delicious.
Single-occupancy, restrooms with accessible toilets, but not accessible sinks, are located in a wide hallway toward the rear emergency exit. There are no baby-changing stations.
As always, we at Destination Accessible advise you to check a venue’s website, http://www.santorininy.com, when planning a visit, to “know before you go.”
