Dinner with friends at yet another restaurant that we had not visited in quite some time. Located in a strip mall just south of the Syosset LIRR station, this restaurant has been here for many years. They have nine locations, all but this one are located in New Jersey. It’s Greek to Me is a ”full service restaurant that offers traditional Greek cuisine along with a diverse variety of contemporary Greek dishes…All menu items are made in-house daily, everything served is prepared at each individual location.” (website)
There are two handicapped spaces, ( van accessible) in the large, paved parking lot.
The street-level entrance, small entryway and another door led to a large, open area, where there is a small service bar and where take-out orders can be picked up.
Behind this area is a small but very pleasant dining room. “The sunny Greek Island décor is the restaurant’s signature and provides a cheerful atmosphere for an informal and moderately priced lunch or dinner.” (website) We certainly found this to be true. Adequate space between tables made navigation and conversation easy. It was nice to be able to talk without feeling too close to the folks at the next table. Of course, this makes navigation easy as well.
Our server was delightful, a personable woman who checked on us regularly to make sure that we had everything we needed. She also made sure that our water was replenished without our having to ask. A delicious, leisurely meal in an inviting setting was just what we wanted and got!
A large, single-occupancy , handicapped-accessible restroom at the rear of the dining room is easy to enter and exit. Unfortunately, there is no baby-changing station.
If you call ahead, they will make every effort to accommodate your group in as comfortable a setting as possible (516 ) 496 – 0771.
